DESCRIPTION
During the Civil War in England, King Charles II was forced to flee for his life from the Battle of Worcester. He sought refuge at Boscobel, initially in a tree (the ‘Boscobel Oak’) and then in a priest hole in Boscobel House before escaping to France.
