DESCRIPTION
A crowd of people chasing a thief through the street and catching him (see inset) - he is being firmly dealt with, without recourse to the law. From ‘The Boy’s Own Paper’ 1879-80, a British newspaper for boys which was at that time published by the Religious Tract Society and which featured stories, heroic deeds, facts, educational items and illustrations.
