DESCRIPTION
A man wearing Regency style clothing and sporting a quiff making a speech after a harvest supper. He appears to have enjoyed plenty of alcoholic beverage while he waits! From “The Horkey - A Ballad” by Robert Bloomfield and illustrated by George Cruikshank; published by MacMillan & Co, London, 1882. The “ballad” is set in Suffolk, England. The ‘Horkey’ is the harvest supper, or end-of-harvest celebratory meal.
