A group of Victorian gentlemen holding an animated committee meeting - which we appear to have interrupted, to their obvious horror. The meeting will apparently involve a good deal of writing, as a page boy is entering the room with two large bottles of ink. And is that Charles Dickens turning round...? From “The Queen - an Illustrated Journal & Review - Christmas Number” from December 1861. The newspaper was published in London and was aimed at mainly upper class people who would attend court functions and society events.
